Galapagos tourSATURDAY: Sullivan Bay and Bartolome AM: Sullivan Bay:Breakfast in the morning.This site is of great geological interest is located south-east of Santiago Island, landing it can be done both on the rocky shore (dry landing) or the white sandy beach (wet landing). The length of the trail is 1.5 km approximately. The area is covered by lava flows Pahohoe type (solidified lava in a wavy or accordion). It was very active in the past 25 years of the nineteenth century. The Sullivan lava was formed in 1897. Flow is very young geologically. Lunch at noon. PM: Bartolomé: Wet Landing, After lunch visit to the Pinnacle Rock beach for swimming and snorkeling. In the afternoon dry landing to reach the viewpoint of Bartolome. After a 30 to 40 minutes climbing, a wooden staircase leads to the top of the island where there are beautiful views of the nearby beaches. While you walk on the banks it is possible to see a great number of birds such as nesting tropic birds and fork-tailed seagulls, but most of all enjoying the beautiful view from the top the steep banks or strolling along the base of the cliff is an extremely

PM: Cerro Brujo: Wet Landing is a beautiful beach of white coral where you can swim and watch birds and sea lions, plus you can snorkel. Located on the north coast of the San Cristobal Island. In the vicinity of the beach you can see seabirds like blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, herons, frigate birds and shore birds. WEDNESDAY: Española: Gardner Bay – Punta Suarez

AM: Gardner Bay: Breakfast in the morning .Wet Landing.Located on the north coast of Española Island. The main attraction is the colony of sea lions, which inhabit the beach in great quantity during thebreeding season. Both resident and migratory birds are observed. Snorkeling in Galapagos IslandsTHURSDAY: Floreana: Post Office Bay – Punta Cormorant

AM: Post office bay:Breakfast in the morning. Wet Landing.This is one of the few visitor sites, that is visited for its human history. Whaling Captain James Colnett established the wooden post barrel in the early 1793. At the time whaling was a big industry, ships were typically gone for 2 years at a time. The Galapagos Islands were a frequent stop for these ships. Outbound ships would drop off letters after rounding the cape and the ships returning home would mail them.

Over the years thousands of ships have stopped to send and receive mail at Post Office Bay. Many have posted a sign of driftwood or other materials memorializing their visit. This is the only area in the Galapagos were graffiti is still acceptable.

PM: Punta Cormorant: Wet Landing, This site has a sandy olivine beach for walking and swimming. The island also has a flamingo lagoon. In addition, white sand beach where sea turtles nest from December to May. Degree of difficulty: easy Duration: 2 Hours. Dinner in the evening.

AM: EL Chato: Breakfast in the morning. Dry Landing. El Chato reserve is divided into two areas; Caseta and Chato. The trail begins at Santa Rosa, 22 km from Puerto Ayora, with the Caseta route being the more challenging. The reserve allows visitors to observe giant tortoises in the wild during the dry season, and is also a good place to spot short-eared owls, Darwin’s finches, yellow warblers, Galapagos rails and paint-billed crakes. Degree of difficulty: Easy. Duration: 1 hour 30 Minutes.

Island Hopping in Galapagos IslandsSUNDAY: Santa Cruz

AM:Ballena Bay: Breakfast in the morning. Wet Landing.The visitor site is a cove of green sand at the basis of Ballena Hill on the west coast of Santa Cruz Island. The beach contains a large amount of olivine crystals, the same that originate from volcanic materials. The crystals were formed when the magma was still underground.

Near the beach there are ceramic relics, which reflect human settlements that were close to the beach in 1846. Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 hours. Lunch at noon.

PM: Dragon Hill: Dry Landing. The site visit is located in the northwest of Santa Cruz Island, and consists of a path that runs for three different environments in just 1,600 m in length.
It gets its name because in 1975, was one of the only places in the Santa Cruz Island where there were land iguanas in healthy state. Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 hours

AM: Tintoreras: Breakfast in the morning. Dry Landing. The islet is Located south of Puerto Villamil. It has a small bay of calm turquoise waters, where you can appreciate sea lions, sea turtles, marine iguanas, rays, etc. The bay is connected to a crevice of crystal clear water, that’s shallow and when the tide is low the entrance closes. you can see how reef sharks swim along with other small fish and sea lions. Difficulty: Easy Duration: 2 hours. Lunch at noon.

PM: Humedales: Dry Landing. The Wetlands is a network of trails, adjacent to Puerto Villamil. There are nine tracks that comprise the following sites: The Wall of Tears, Cerro Orchilla, El Estero, Poza Escondida, Poza Redonda, Tunnel del Estero, Playa del Amor, Bay of Tunis and Pozas Verdes.
The Wetlands are coastal mangroves and brackish water lagoons formed by seepage of seawater and freshwater underground tributaries coming from the upper parts of the island. They are also an important feeding area for the Galapagos penguin and one of the main nesting sites for green turtles.

The wetlands of Isabela Island are essential for the maintenance of biological diversity of Galapagos, as home to several species that depend exclusively on the wetland in order to fulfill their life cycle, flamenco, Bug, stilt, oystercatcher, Gallinula, ghost crab, and fiddler crabs.

Galapagos IslandsTUESDAY: Punta Moreno – Urbina Bay

AM: Punta Moreno:Breakfast in the morning. Dry landing, Punta Moreno is located on the north coast of Isabela Island. The route of the trail is approximately 2100 meters.The main attraction in Punta Moreno is the coastal lagoons in the middle of black lava flow where there are several species of birds. It has a view of 3 volcanoes, the most actives in the Galapagos; Sierra Negra and Cerro Azul. Difficulty: Difficult Duration: 2 hours,Lunch at noon.

PM: Urbina Bay: Wet Landing, Urbina Bay is located at the base of volcanoes Alcedo and Darwin, west of Isabela Island. Here you can find corals, shells, and many other organisms exposed above the water. This area is also home to large and very colorful Galápagos land iguanas, giant tortoises and the famous population of Alcedo Volcano. Difficulty: Moderate Duration: 2 hours,Dinner in the evening.

AM: Punta Espinoza: Breakfast in the morning. Dry Landing. Punta Espinosa is a jagged promontory of cracked and eroded lava, but the name could also refer to the hundreds of spiny marine iguanas that drape the rocks. Pristine nature under an active volcano and a highlight of any cruise. Flightless cormorants, Galapagos penguins, Galapagos sea lions, waders and the world’s largest colony of marine iguanas thrive on the edge of a barren lava flow. Fine stands of mangroves support yellow warblers, Darwin finches, large billed flycatchers, Galapagos hawks and nesting brown pelicans.

PM: Caleta Tagus: Dry Landing. The site visit Tagus Cove is located west of Darwin volcano on Isabela Island. The route of the trail is about 1800 meters.
This was a favorite place for pirates and whalers, there is observed a tradition that has been maintained since that time: the inscription of the names of boats. At the start of the walk, rising and passing the staircase, there is a small cave where we found inscriptions dating from the 1800s.

Rabida is located 5 km south of Santiago Island and is commonly regarded as the geographical center of the Galapagos Islands. It has an area of 4.9 km ² and a maximum altitude of 367 meters. It has a high iron content, which causes that this place has a distinctive reddish color. Its main attraction is the salt lagoon with flamingoes, pelicans and boobies place where they build their nests.Difficulty: Easy Duration: 1:30 hours Dinner in the evening.
